This Master's Degree in Epistemology of Natural and Social Sciences has an academic-scientific character, and is aimed especially at current graduates and graduates who wish to proceed to specialized training in Philosophy as well as to access the PhD in Philosophy.

goalsThe general objectives of this University Master are:
• Acquire the conceptual and methodological instruments required to autonomously develop research in the field of Epistemology and Theory of Knowledge, the Philosophy of Language, the Philosophy of Mind, the Philosophy of Nature and the Philosophy of Science (both Natural Sciences and Social Sciences).
• Train students to discern interdisciplinary relationships between issues pertaining to these fields, such as the relationships between knowledge in general and scientific knowledge, between knowledge, society and culture, between knowledge and action, as well as the relationships between language, mind and the world.
• Provide the advanced philosophical knowledge necessary to critically analyze central questions about knowledge, language, mind, nature and science, bearing in mind both the historical configuration of these questions and the current state of the debate around them.
• Teach students to identify and critically judge the social relevance of the aforementioned philosophical questionsRecipientsThis University Master, with a clear interdisciplinary vocation, is aimed at graduates and graduates in Philosophy, as well as in other disciplines related to the subjects of the Master, who intend to develop an academic-research career in scientific fields such as Epistemology and Theory of Knowledge, the Philosophy of Language, the Philosophy of Mind, the Philosophy of Nature and the Philosophy of Science (both Natural and Social Sciences). This University Master establishes as an access qualification the degree in Philosophy or in any other disciplines related to the subjects of the Master
Why study this master?
The character of this University Master's Degree is academic-researcher and basically meets the existing demand to acquire specialized and interdisciplinary training in Philosophy that later allows access to the research period of the Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Philosophy. However, this Master's Degree also serves as a complement to the knowledge acquired by students of degrees other than Philosophy, counting among its students, in addition to philosophers, historians, physicists, psychologists and sociologists among others, given the multidisciplinary nature of philosophical studies and, especially, of those corresponding to this Master's degree.Admission requirements for mastersNon-enabling university mastersBe in possession of any of the following titles:Spanish official university degree .
Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
Or be carrying out studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees during the course in which the pre-registration is carried out and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before the date established in the corresponding call (see href = "https: //www.ucm.es/requisitos-de-admision-a-masteres ).
In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
