The Master in Early Care , professionalized and investigative, which is a path of specialization and professionalization for different graduates (teachers, pedagogues, social educators, social workers, psychologists, psycho-pedagogues, doctors, etc.), responding to the demands of society and, more specifically, of the educational system in the training of professionals with advanced knowledge in the care of children aged between 0-6 years who are in situations of biological, socio-environmental risk or when they present alterations in their development.

The Master's Degree in Early Care has as main objectives:

  • Acquire advanced, specialized and interdisciplinary training in the different areas of Early Care.
  • To develop the promotion of the improvement of the educational response from an interdisciplinary model with the aim of improving the quality of life of early childhood education students in situations of biological or socio-environmental risk or with special educational needs.
  • Know the proper use of evaluation and intervention procedures for children at high risk or with disabilities.
  • Effectively attend to any of the special educational needs that arise in the personal, family, school or institutional sphere, formal and non-formal.
  • To generate in the student, through values education, the sensitivity necessary to formulate judgments, which include reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge.

Recipients

Students who meet any of the following requirements will be able to access this university Master :

  • Preference will be given to students in possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Pedagogy, Psychopedagogy, Psychology, and graduates in the degrees of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Pedagogy and Social Education.
  • Diplomas in Teaching, Speech Therapy, Social Education and those university graduates who accredit training and professional experience linked to the contexts of early childhood care may also access, after evaluating the academic and professional record of the applicants.

For the selection, the following criteria will be taken into account:

  • Adequacy of the curriculum vitae to the profile of the program.
  • Previous studies, as specified in the access qualifications.
  • Academic record.
  • Previous knowledge of Didactics and School Organization, Evolutionary Psychology and Education and Psychobiology.
  • Result of personal interviews, if the Teaching Commission considers it necessary.

Why study this master?

The Faculty of Education - Teacher Training Center currently has several university masters of advanced studies of a investigative nature and, with this proposal, tries to complete its offer with a University Master's degree with a professional and investigative character, which allows continuing training to graduates of Master's degrees in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, Pedagogy and Social Education, and respond to the demands of society and, more specifically, of the educational system in the training of professionals with advanced knowledge in the care of children aged between 0-6 years who are in situations of biological, socio-environmental risk or when they present alterations in their development.

Early Childhood Care (AT) has reached an unprecedented development in recent decades driven by the recognition of the human capital that childhood represents, by the profound social transformations that are affecting the family structure and its educational function, by research in the Field of Education Sciences and the field of neuroscience, which are providing a better knowledge of the child and his learning potential and by a greater social awareness of the fundamental rights of childhood, among which education occupies a prominent place . It is in this dynamic of change that this University Master's Degree in AT is of interest.

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out during the course in which you pre-enroll studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before September 30, 2020 .
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
