About

The Master in Digital Letters: Advanced Studies in Electronic Textualities responds to a need of today: complement both philological and humanities studies and computer studies with the acquisition of knowledge and technological skills in the field of electronic textualities.

The objective is to cover the need for professionals specialized in the creation and management of digital texts and materials, so that they can competitively incorporate research and the labor market in the field of cultural industries, of the institutions responsible for heritage digital culture and educational centers that use, to a greater or lesser extent, online tools.

This University Master's Degree responds to a need of today: complementing both philology and humanities studies and computer studies with the acquisition of technological knowledge and skills in the field of electronic textualities.

The objective is to cover the need for professionals specialized in the creation and management of digital texts and materials, so that they can competitively join the labor market and research in the field of cultural industries, of the institutions responsible for cultural heritage digitized and from educational centers that use, to a greater or lesser extent, online tools.

Recipients

The University Master's Degree is designed to complete the training of graduates or graduates in Philology, Translation and Interpretation, and equivalent degrees, with computer skills; also to graduates and graduates in Computer Science, Engineering and equivalent qualifications with knowledge of philology; finally, to graduates and graduates in Humanities and Social Sciences with knowledge of computer science and philology. The merits of the pre-registered will be assessed based on their academic record, professional curriculum and instrumental skills.

This is a University Master's degree adapted to the needs of the market and research of today and tomorrow. Students will gain a solid theoretical and practical base that will allow them to implement their own models and practices for dealing with electronic textualities, both in research and management institutions, and in companies and teaching centers related to cultural heritage and teaching in digital environments. .

  • Thanks to a quality teaching staff, the result of close collaboration between UCM faculties and institutions: Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Documentation Sciences, UCM Library.
  • Because of the blended methodology that it proposes (80% virtual, 20% face-to-face), because of the possibilities of insertion of the student in real work activity, because of the international projection that the Spanish language allows in the field of electronic textualities.

Admission requirements for masters

Non-enabling university masters

  • Be in possession of any of the following titles:
    • Spanish official university degree .
    • Title issued by an institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and empowering in the country of issue for access to Master's education.
    • Title of educational systems outside the EHEA that empowers in the country of issuance for access to Master's education, homologated or declared equivalent to the degree and academic level of Degree or Degree by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training . In case of lacking the mentioned homologation or equivalency, it will be necessary to have authorization or access permission granted by this University.
  • Or be carrying out during the course in which you pre-enroll studies leading to the obtaining of any of the previous degrees and be in a position to prove the obtaining of the same before September 30, 2020 .
  • In addition, students from foreign educational systems, whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, must prove level B2 of the Spanish language (or higher) .
