Program Description

The inter-faculty master’s degree in Development and International Cooperation Sciences aims to provide high professionalism in the analysis of institutional and cultural factors, as well as in the planning and the management of specific cooperation initiatives.

The Master’s degree is established by the Faculty of Political Science, Sociology, Communication, Faculty of Economics, and Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The program offers interdisciplinary knowledge and operational tools for the analysis and interpretation of emerging country contexts and for the management of programs and projects for peace and international development and cooperation.

In addition, the course provides advanced skills necessary for:

  • The creation, drafting, implementation, and management of integrated development cooperation programs and projects;
  • the application of the main monitoring and evaluation methods;
  • fluent use of English, in written and oral form;
  • the use of information communication and management tools.

During the second year the course is divided into two highly characterizing curricula, focused on combining a high degree of specialist knowledge with adequate operational training:

  • Socio-Political-Economic curriculum;
  • Economics for development curriculum.

Professional profiles and expected employment areas

Graduates will be able to perform managerial and high-responsibility functions in Public Administration, in national and international organizations, including NGOs, private companies in the field of development cooperation between countries at different levels of development, volunteering, and the third sector, as well as in educational institutions and social and cultural cooperation. They will also be able to provide specialized consultancy and project activities in research and study institutions in the field of human and social development and capacity and institution building and/ or access to advanced training in the field of social sciences.
