What knowledge will I acquire with this Master?

  • The University Master's Degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology aims to train professionals with knowledge and skills related to the theoretical-practical and methodological foundations of the disciplines of Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology, from a double, clinical and research perspective.
  • Practical competences linked to neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation
  • Research skills for the study of neural networks involved in the functioning of different cognitive and affective processes in the general population and in patients

Recommended entry profile

A recommended profile is established for access to the Master's Degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology, in which the following merits will preferably be assessed:

  1. Preferred access qualifications: This master's degree is preferably aimed at graduates or graduates in Psychology and Medicine, also extending it to graduates or university graduates of other health sciences disciplines with training in the functioning of the central nervous system, prior assessment of the head of the master and the academic commission.
  2. Prior language training: you must accredit a level of English equivalent to B1 in accordance with the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, by submitting the corresponding certificate. Additionally, the B2 level in English will be valued as a preferred merit.

In case the demand exceeds the offer of places, candidates will be selected according to the following criteria:

  1. Average grade of the academic record of the degree with which it is requested to access the master's degree (65%)
  2. Curriculum vitae: research and professional experience in the fields related to the master's degree (35%)

Course objective: training of competent professionals in the fields of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. Know the functioning of neural networks involved in cognitive and affective processes through the use of brain activity recording techniques, with the purpose of applying this knowledge and skills to the field of neuroscience and behavior research and to the clinical field of Neuropsychology.

Admission and registration

Admission:

The requirements for access to the proposed degree are according to article 16, of Royal Decree 1393/2007, modified by Royal Decree 861/2010, of July 2, regarding the organization of official university teaching of Master, to access the Master University in Cognitive Neuroscience and

Neuropsychology by the Rey Juan Carlos University:

  1. It will be necessary to be in possession of an official Spanish university degree or another issued by an institution of higher education belonging to another State that is part of the European Higher Education Area that empowers the same for access to Master's education.
  2. Likewise, graduates may access according to educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area without the need for the approval of their degrees, after verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that In the issuing country, they are entitled to access postgraduate education. The access by this route will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous title of which the interested party is in possession, nor its recognition for other purposes than that of taking the Master's teachings.

Offer of places: 44 places. If the minimum number of students expected is not reached in a course, the University may choose not to open the teaching group.
