The Master in Television Production is a graduate program officially valid, fully adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and oriented to the exercise of the profession within the television medium, taught in collaboration TRACOR, the Institute of Communication Arts (leader since 1989 in the formation of people with a clear vocation by the professional field of communication) and San Pablo CEU University (with over 75 years experience in training in Spain).
The revolution of digitalization of television and the consequent modification of the structures and key success factors in the industry have created an immense space of opportunities and challenges to creativity. Objectives and Skills
Objectives of the Master in Television Production
The overall objective of the Master in Television Production is to offer students a global and multidisciplinary knowledge of different areas, subjects and tasks that come together in the creation, development, production and distribution of television content. The Master offers a multidisciplinary and integrated vision on the different professional activities that make up the executive production of television content.
The teaching method combines three types of training sessions whose structure depends on the type of concrete knowledge or skill to be acquired:
- Regular sessions: Each session corresponds to a thematic unit combining theory, group work and discussions, the main protagonist and participatory student learning process.
- Practical sessions-workshops: students carry them work individually or in groups, monitored by a teacher. The classes are aimed at achieving specific skills in the management of software related to the professional activity.
- Assessments: Students must perform during the three partial program works with his team to be present and defend in a court of teachers. In addition, students must develop a Master's Thesis.
- Practice: students take three months of external practices in companies (producers and broadcasters) where they complete their training by applying and transferring actual practice the knowledge acquired during the Masters.
That students know how to apply the acquired knowledge and ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to graphic design and visual communication.
The student should be able to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments based on information that was incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
The student knows communicate their conclusions (and the knowledge and rationale underpinning) to specialists and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous manner.
The student possesses the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.
The Master's Degree in Television Production consists of 70 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) and is divided into six major areas of knowledge with the following structure of modules: The Television Industry, Television Programming and Audience Analysis, Formats television, Creativity and Script Development, Implementation and Post-Production and Production. The program is completed with three part-time jobs, the Master's Thesis and placements in companies mandatory.
Admission process Masters in Television Production
The Master's Degree in Television Production is an official postgraduate program (70 ECTS) taught collaboratively by TRACOR and the University CEU San Pablo, it is indicated directed especially at graduates in audiovisual communication and journalism, without ruling out other graduates with interest learn to create and fill the spaces of opportunities in the television sector.
Students who intend to access the Program must be in possession of:
- A Spanish official university degree, preferably graduates in Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, without ruling out other university graduates;
- A certificate issued by an institution of higher education in the European Higher Education Area entitling the issuing country for access to teachings of Master
- A title under foreign education systems to the European Higher Education Area without approval, after verification by the University that accredits a level of education equivalent to the corresponding Spanish university degrees and that authorizes the issuing country for access to teachings of Master
The Admissions Committee TRACOR meets regularly to assess the various applications of students who have completed admission tests. The Department of Information and Admissions is responsible for informing candidates of the final result of the admission process. In case of non-acceptance, it is always communicated personally interested, guiding, as far as possible, on more suitable for your career alternatives.
Once admitted into the program, the Department of Information and Admissions tells the student candidate for the steps to reserve a place and final enrollment in the Masters. To reserve a place, the candidate must proceed to make the payment of 20% of the registration fee. The formalization of tuition Agreement grants candidate status student can choose between several forms of payment.
- There is a program of corporate scholarships from 25% to 100% of the cost of the master.

The Master in Television Production incorporates three months mandatory external practices in companies (television networks and independent producers mostly).
The Department's Career TRACOR and COIE of San Pablo CEU University work together to obtain practical and career opportunities for students in the Master. Both departments have many cooperation agreements with companies in the area of television.
Within independent television networks and producers, natural career opportunities to the Master are varied in their areas whether in entertainment, fiction or informational production, script, editing, performing, writing, programming, audiences, content, etc.
