Introduction

The Interuniversity Master of Industrial Mathematics (M2i) is organized by the three Galician universities, together with the universities Carlos III and Polytechnic of Madrid.

It consists of the specialties of Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Simulation. The title is obtained after exceeding 90 credits, of which 30 correspond to the Master project, which is developed in collaboration with a company.

Why study the degree

The training needs at the masters level of professionals in Industrial Mathematics are highlighted by both the EU and the OECD in its Global Science Forum document. Report on Mathematics in Industry.

The scientific / technological interest of M2i is based on three pillars

  1. Expand the analytical capacity and knowledge of the students that will form the research teams and future professionals.
  2. Provide concrete skills in designing, building and managing specific software in one of the industrial sectors at least.
  3. Introduce the students in the topics of research and development related to the subjects that make up this program.

What is learned

The general objective of the Interuniversity Master in Industrial Mathematics is to train professionals who are capable of adequately performing the professional exercise in the development and application of mathematical technologies in the field of Industry.

The Master is oriented towards advanced training, with a multidisciplinary character, with sufficient basic training, so that it is possible to achieve both an academic and / or professional specialization and the initiation in research tasks.

Recommended profile

For the qualifications under the protection of RD 1393/2007 the following profile of the candidates to study the Master is recommended:

  • Graduates of the Engineering and Architecture area
  • Graduates of Sciences and graduates in Economics and Business Administration

For the qualifications previous to RD 1393/2007, the following profile of the candidates to study the Master is recommended:

  • Technical or Superior Engineers.
  • Graduates in Sciences, especially Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Graduates in Economics and Business Administration.

The prioritization of the candidates will be by academic record, according to the order of preference of the recommended degrees, in case the number of pre-enrolled in the Master exceeds the number of places available.
