The MFA Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art - Masters in Graphic Design Communication is a program graduate graphic design fully integrated within the EHEA (European Higher Education Area) valid throughout Europe and taught jointly by the School of Design Institute of Communication Arts TRACOR and the University CEU San Pablo, arising from the real market need brought about by the ongoing technological revolution and create a new professional art, design, audiovisual and multimedia-web, versatile and self-sufficient communication, fully integrated in the communication process and with absolute control same, able to understand the products and conceptualizing ideas, but also to translate them graphically or audiovisual form, using the most innovative technologies.

The Master in Graphic Communication Design (MFA, Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art) consists of 70 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) and is divided into three major areas of knowledge with the following structure of modules: Basis for Visual communication, Digital Tools for Visual Creation and Applications of Graphic and Visual Design. The program is completed with three part-time jobs, work to master and external internships.

The degree of recognition of the Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art - Master in Graphic Communication Design industry is such that the students who pass the course, after making his traineeship, have guaranteed employment contract, which it will allow access (for at least six months) to his first graphic and multimedia designer with the exclusive first Employment program TRACOR *.

Objectives and Skills

Objectives of the Master in Graphic Design

The educational objectives of the Master in Graphic Communication Design fall into four broad categories: The first objective aims to provide students with solid theoretical knowledge to understand the nature of various professional activities to be developed in more detail throughout program. The student must know, understand and critically analyze the role of design of visual messages within the social, economic and cultural structures in which companies able to question the different ethical issues, codes and regulation move related communication, and maintain principles in their practice of communicative creativity.

In the second part the theoretical knowledge and skill with various key tools for professional development would be located.

The importance of the implementation and management of new technologies is key for the student to form properly and can aspire to develop a successful career.

The third objective focuses on the professional knowledge of the different aspects covered by the field of visual communication. In them the student can learn, work and apply their theoretical and practical to different specialties existing market knowledge.

Finally, the ultimate goal would be to enhance the management and methodology of design projects, for which it needs to develop the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, time management and the relationship with other students, developing a work culture in which reward the value of effort, sacrifice and self-improvement.

Competences of the Master in Graphic Design

Apply

That students know how to apply the acquired knowledge and ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to graphic design and visual communication.

To integrate

The student should be able to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments based on information that was incomplete or limited, includes reflections on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.

Communicate

The student knows communicate their conclusions (and the knowledge and rationale underpinning) to specialists and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous manner.

self-learning

The student possesses the learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

Curriculum

The Master in Graphic Communication Design (MFA, Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art) consists of 70 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) and is divided into three major areas of knowledge with the following structure of modules: Basis for Visual communication, Digital Tools for Visual Creation and Applications of Graphic and Visual Design.

These instructional modules must be added the three part-time jobs, the Master's Thesis and placements in companies mandatory.

Admission

Requirements

Students who intend to access the Program must be in possession of:

  • A Spanish official university degree, preferably graduates in Fine Arts, Advertising and Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication and Higher Education graduates in Design, without ruling out other degrees.
  • A certificate issued by an institution of higher education in the European Higher Education Area entitling the issuing country for access to Master studies.
  • A title under foreign education systems to the European Higher Education Area without approval, after verification by the University that accredits a level of education equivalent to the corresponding Spanish university degrees and that authorizes the issuing country for access to Master studies.

Admission

The Admissions Committee TRACOR meets regularly to assess the various applications of students who have completed admission tests. The Department of Information and Admissions is responsible for informing candidates of the final result of the admission process. In case of non-acceptance, it is always communicated personally interested, guiding, as far as possible, on more suitable for your career alternatives.

Tuition

Once admitted into the program, the Department of Information and Admissions tells the student candidate for the steps to reserve a place and final enrollment in the Masters. To reserve a place, the candidate must proceed to make the payment of 20% of the registration fee. The formalization of tuition Agreement grants candidate status student can choose between several forms of payment.

Professional outings

The Master in Graphic Communication Design (Master of Fine Arts in Computer Art-MFA) incorporates the First Employment * Exclusive program TRACOR through which the graduates of the Master is guaranteed in graphic design six-month internship occurred design six months of employment as a graphic designer with a formal contract.

Students receive an innovative and efficient training that allows them access to employment obtained through the First Employment * program with all the guarantees of success. Companies are confident hiring new employees because they can choose from a select number of students who have obtained the MFA degree, those that best suit their philosophy and needs, which facilitates the integration of the student engaged in the company.

The effort made by the student during the Masters is rewarded by both the training received, which gives security and professional maturity, for the great opportunity provided by the First Employment program to implement the knowledge gained by providing, after concluded the MFA, the need to complete their training, gaining experience and helping to build a curriculum and professional employment.

The COIE of San Pablo CEU University and the Department's Career TRACOR work together to obtain practical and career opportunities for students in the Master in Graphic Communication Design. Both departments have many cooperation agreements with advertising agencies, design studios, interactive and Web design and communication departments of companies agencies, natural career opportunities to the Master.
