Introduction

Qualifying title for the exercise of the regulated profession of Architect, to be taken after the Degree in Architecture Studies. The objective is to train professionals who:

  1. They have the ability to project, write construction projects and, more generally, to investigate, create and manage complex processes.
  2. Know the history and theories of architecture, as well as the arts, technology, and human sciences related to living.
  3. Get to know urban planning and its planning techniques.
  4. Understand relationships between people and buildings and their environment.
  5. Solve the problems of structural design, construction and the different technologies related to buildings in order to provide them with conditions of comfort and climate protection.
  6. Know how to meet the requirements of building users based on budgetary factors, regulations and capabilities of the construction industry.

Why study the degree

The Master's Degree in Architecture By the University of Coruña, is the only qualification of the Galician University System that will allow you to exercise the regulated profession of Architect in accordance with the new training itinerary established in Order EDU 2075/2010.

Attending this degree will provide the ability to investigate, create and manage complex processes in the execution of architectural and urban projects.

It also provides a great artistic, technological, sociological and humanistic load related to the dwelling.

It goes deeper into the structural concepts, construction and the different technologies related to the building process.

Recommended profile

Students who wish to study Master's Degree in Architecture must have specific skills, which they will have acquired after passing the Degree in Architecture Studies or another that is a requirement of access according to Order EDU / 2075/2010, of July 29 . The incoming student will have the following abilities:

  • Adequate knowledge of the history and theories of architecture, as well as related arts, technology and human sciences.
  • Knowledge of the fine arts as a factor that can influence the quality of architectural design.
  • Adequate knowledge of urban planning, planning and applied techniques in the planning process.
  • Understanding the problems of structural design, construction and engineering related to building projects as well as the techniques for solving them.
  • Adequate knowledge of the physical problems and of the different technologies, as well as of the function of the buildings, so that they are endowed with internal conditions of comfort and protection of the climatic factors.
  • Adequate knowledge of the industries, organizations, regulations and procedures to translate projects into buildings and to integrate plans into planning.
  • Ability to understand relationships between people and buildings and between buildings and their surroundings, as well as the need to relate buildings and spaces between them according to human needs and scale.

Common access requirements

The students who wish to study the Master's Degree in Architecture must have passed the Degree in Architecture Studies or another that is a requirement of access according to Order EDU / 2075/2010, of July 29.
