The Secure Systems and Network Engineering is a master program which was originally brought to Innopolis University from University of Amsterdam (SNE at UvA). The program itself is very extensive, and students will have to devote their time fully to the study process. The program requires from 1.5 years of experience in security. Because of the complexity of homework assignments and topics covered during the year, we have comprehensive admission procedure, which includes tests and presentation.

Selection Criteria

Mandatory Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in network administration and/or development
  • Knowledge of protocols and architecture of computer networks
  • Skills in Linux-based operating systems
  • Programming skills: Low-level development (C/C++) or web-application development (python / JavaScript / Ruby ) the Unix command shell scripts
  • Knowledge of algebra and discrete mathematics
  • Experience in composition of technical documentation
  • Knowledge of English (upper-intermediate or higher)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in practical security (penetration testing)
  • Software security
  • Code review and vulnerabilities assessment
  • Participation in CTF competitions

To be enrolled in this program, it is mandatory to provide legalized and nostrificated diploma of higher education (Bachelor’s), translated into Russian and authenticated.


Based on the election results, students receive educational grants, covering up to 100 % of the tuition fee and monthly allowance.
