Program Description

Our Master of Science in Molecular life sciences offers broad training at the very frontier of research. Molecular life sciences aim is to understand the structure, function and regulation of biological systems from the molecular through to the organismal level. This rapidly growing field, which is currently seeing extensive technological advances and emerging new sub-disciplines open up a broad spectrum of career opportunities.

Programme structure

The Master of Science programme offers a selection of courses covering a broad range of subjects within cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, developmental biology, molecular physiology, and immunology. The flexible nature of the programme allows up to 60 credits of optional courses, which can be courses in other subject areas such as law or economics.

Important parts of industry and society require deep knowledge within molecular life sciences, from biomedical research and pharmaceuticals development to the effect of the environment on biological systems, quality assurance of foodstuffs, and nutritional science.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the programme we require the equivalent to Bachelor's degree with a major in biology or molecular biology, including chemistry and biochemistry. In addition, you are required to show English proficiency equivalent to Swedish high school level.

Application and tuition fees are required unless you are EU/EEA citizen or have long-term/permanent residency status in Sweden (or temporary residency for reasons other than studies).
