The joint TUM-NTU Master of Science in Integrated Circuit Design (MSc in ICD) degree has trained more than eight cohorts of engineers and scientists since it was started in 2005. It equips students with the academic proficiency and hands-on knowledge required in the design, development, and manufacture of integrated circuit or integrated electronic products.

Conferred by Technische Universität München (Germany) and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). The joint TUM-NTU Master of Science in Integrated Circuit Design degree ensures that students are prepared to transform their ideas into innovative solutions for the Electrical & Electronics Engineering industry.

Two years full-time research and application-focused programme, inclusive of internship experience and Master Thesis.

  • The student has to complete 12 modules (6 Core Modules, 4 Specialization Techical Elective Modules, 2 Non-Technical Elective Modules)
  • 45 Contact hours for every Core & Elective Module
  • 2 Compulsory Lab Modules required to be completed by every student

Because our TUM professors work with leading companies in the industry, they engage their students by combining theoretical knowledge with their real-life experiences. We fly in our TUM professors from Germany to teach on an exclusive teaching basis, ensuring no compromise on quality. Students gain insights from the European and Asian industry, allowing them to take these knowledge to new heights when they eventually go out to the industry or research sector.

You are able to complete your Internship and Thesis in Munich, Singapore or anywhere in the world, with any company or research institution.

Our globalised classroom also provides a good test-bed for the workplace. The ability to work with people from different cultures is now an essential skill for the workplace and there is no better place to start than in our classroom.

Required to have a minimum 3-year Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent degree in other relevant disciplines.

You may apply to the programme if you have completed your Bachelor Degree Programme, or are in your final year of Bachelor Degree studies.

"When I saw a Personal Computer for the first time, I was awestruck at its high capability of performing tasks of mathematics impossible to humans. Innovators are constantly pushing the boundaries of processor technology year after year. I was inspired by these innovators, which led me to pursue my Bachelors and Masters in the Electrical Engineering field."
