Our Master of Science in Instructional Technology program trains graduates in the effective use of instructional technology in schools (K-12), colleges, universities, or business/industry settings.

Upon successful completion of the Teacher Certification Track, students who already hold New York State initial teacher certification will be eligible for NYS professional teacher certification as an Educational Technology Specialist, as well as UFT contractual 30 credits above the Master's salary differential. Students who complete the Corporate Trainer Track will obtain the necessary skills to work as a Corporate Trainer, Instructional Designer, or Staff Developer.

Teacher Certification Track

Qualifies graduates who hold NYS initial teacher certification for professional teaching certification as an Educational Technology Specialist as well as the Second Salary Differential at the NYC DOE.

Special Requirements

Degree candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any field.

For admission to the Master’s programs in the Graduate School of Technology, students must achieve the following:

  1. Completion of a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from an accredited academic institution, supported by the evidence of an official transcript from the undergraduate institution.
  2. Fulfillment of the English Language Proficiency requirement, if applicable.

Special Admission Requirements

  • Copy of NYS Initial Certification.
  • GRE Scores.

Corporate Trainer Track

  • A current resume.

  4. An essay describing personal goals and objectives in applying to the program of your choice.
