Businesses need their entire organization's energy and talent to thrive and grow. That's why human resource management (HRM) professionals are so critical. They are the ones who help develop an organization's talent.
Acquire the knowledge, skills, and network you need to make a difference through the Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MS/HRM) program at Mays Business School.
Our program helps you develop the knowledge and skills needed for a successful HR career and connects you to powerful network of current and former students, faculty and business leaders
MaysMS/HRM program helps you develop four core skill areas:
Our program not only provides specialized coursework in the area of HRM. But, it also exposes you to the core components of management, as well as an organization's functional areas - accounting, finance, marketing, and operations.
Aside from integrating these skill areas into your coursework, your marketability will be enhanced by taking specific courses in these areas. These courses comprise the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK), which you take if you didn't in your undergraduate program.
As a fully accredited program, we require at least 18 months of full-time study. While students are occasionally accepted on a part-time basis, part-time enrollment is discouraged.
The primary coursework includes 37 credit hours. You will take courses critical for your success in HRM, including:
- Organizational behavior
- HR research methods
- Employment law, among others.
After your first year of coursework, you will have an opportunity to apply what you have learned during a professional internship.
If you are lacking any of the CBK courses, you may have to broaden your studies with coursework up to 49 credit hours
