The Master (MSc) in Business Economics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) teaches you how to make the right organisational and financial decisions for organisations. It is a specialised programme for students who have a background in business economics and want to focus on organisational issues, using a quantitative and analytical approach.

The Managerial Economics and Strategy track of the Business Economics Master's programme focuses on the economic performance of organisations. It provides you with the broad range of skills, the in-depth knowledge and the international expertise that you will need in your career. You'll acquire the knowledge you need to understand the design of firms and other types of organisations.

One Master’s programme, three tracks

The Master's programme in Business Economics currently offers three top-level academic specialisation tracks:

  • Managerial Economics & Strategy
  • Competition Law & Economics
  • Neuroeconomics

All three tracks offer a common knowledge base in Business Economics, as well as in-depth specialised courses and subject matter.

Degree

After successful completion of this programme, you will receive a legally accredited Master’s degree in Business Economics and the title Master of Science (MSc).

What can you expect to achieve once you have completed the MSc in Business Economics in general with a specialisation in one of the tracks? Job prospects are generally quite excellent.
