Program Description
At the VUB, we offer a strong, research-focused, and thesis-based Master's program in which graduate students interact closely with their teachers and supervisors from the first day of their entry. In addition, being located in the heart of Europe, Belgium ensures the proximity of academic and medical institutions, biotechnological know-how, and government agencies to offer the ideal intellectual and career environment.
The program includes the following profiles students can choose from:
- Ecology and Biodiversity
- Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences
- Herpetology [Not organized in 2021-2022]
- Human Ecology
- Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems [Applications for this graduation option are postponed until further notice]
Admission Requirements
The Master of Science in Biology is open to holders of a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
For other academic bachelors in science, applied science, and life sciences (e.g. BSc in Environmental Sciences, BSc in Biotechnology, etc.), the equivalency will be evaluated based on scientific competencies and skills.
Proof of English language proficiency is required.
