Accounting: A Language of Business
Learn to develop and analyze accounting information and advise top-level managers as they make important decisions. Examine and evaluate financial statements and 10-k reports. Provide assurances of financial accuracy and control. Develop investment and tax strategies.
A Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) degree from Clark readies you for a career in public accounting and financial management fields increasingly seeking employees with advanced accounting degrees and CPA certification.
A recent survey conducted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) found that "opportunities in the accounting profession continue to expand as the needs of firms and businesses grow ever more complex and global." In fact, the Occupational Outlook Handbook estimates a 22% growth in accounting and auditing jobs through 2018. Graduates with a master's degree — and CPA certification — have the brightest outlook of all.
Originally required only of independent accountants and auditors, the CPA designation has over the years become the gold standard of the profession and an essential certification for accountants across the business spectrum. Clark's MSA program is Level 1 approved by the Board of Public Accountancy, Division of Professional Licensure, which means graduates automatically satisfy the education requirement to sit for the CPA exam in Massachusetts.
