Master of Producing

The Master of Producing is a practice-based graduate coursework degree, taking eighteen months of full-time study that focuses on the creative and business aspects of being a successful producer in the film, television and allied industries.

The programme will extend your creative abilities and business skills by requiring you to work in the role of Producer on student films; you will develop a sound understanding of the Australian film, television and allied industries, and produce a short creative project.

Admission is based on completion of a three-year undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification and an interview.

The School of Film and Television at the Victorian College of the Arts has an international reputation for the high quality of its graduates and student productions. Graduates are successful in local and international film festivals, winning numerous awards for their productions and are widely employed in the industry. Many of our graduates develop high-profile careers in the film, television or allied industries.

  • 18 months full time (This course cannot be taken part-time)

  • Semester 1 only
  • There is no mid-year entry
  • Successful applicants cannot defer their course
