The programme "Marketing Management of Business" seeks to develop students’ competence in exact analytical methods, abilities to identify factors determining the development of a business and its environment, to identify a market opportunity, to estimate the threats and the potential consequences for the business, to manage the offer so as to seize the opportunity.

It trains students in problem-solving skills incorporating a systematic approach based on competency in decision-making methods, which requires integrating knowledge of management, operational management, an organization of managerial work, marketing in the domestic and world markets, finance, quality management and human resources.

At the same time, the programme trains students to take a strategic thinking approach, to foresee phenomena, and with the use of mathematical-statistical methods to quantify the effects on the business. The programme prepares professionals in the middle and top management of small and middle businesses, in bodies of state and local administration in the areas of sole trader business, vocational schools, and project and consultancy organizations.

For applicants from the countries that have ratified the Convention on Demand of Higher Authorisation of Public Records Cancellation applicable in the Slovak Republic, one special certificate (apostille) granted by the competent authority will be sufficient for approval of the education certificate plausibility.

Entry Requirements

The admission requirements apply equally to all Master study programmes at the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

The basic requirement is the completion of a Bachelor study programme. Another requirement is passing the entrance exam.

The entrance exam consists of a written test in major subjects of the Bachelor study in the particular field of study. The maximum score on the entrance exam is 100 points.

The applicants who completed the Bachelor study in the same field of study shall be admitted without the entrance exam. In the case of applicants who completed the Bachelor study in a different field of study, the decision about admitting them with or without entrance exam is the right of the Dean.

In case the number of applicants accepted without entrance exam is higher than the planned capacity of the study programme, the Dean has the right to decide according to the candidates´ grade point average from Bachelor study.

The candidates who have passed the entrance exam will be admitted to study according to a ranking compiled on the basis of their total scores up to the planned capacity of individual study programmes.

The Dean can exempt from the entrance exam the applicants who had previously passed the entrance exam, and had been admitted and enrolled in the study and were expelled from study.
