Master of Landscape Design (MLD)
Master of Landscape Design program provides professional education for the development of regional landscape planning, geographical information systems, natural resources analysis and interpretation towards land development for various natural and human infrastructures. Students will acquire skills that enable them to analyze regions for carrying capacity, land use suitability, land capability as well as the design of landscapes towards development and conservation of natural sustainable ecosystems. Besides, design explorations of small-scale landscapes are integrated well within the studio exercises.
Landscape programs at CEPT University are designed to allow a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the profession. Students have demonstrated new thinking, coupled with measured and relevant responses to varying landscape situations. The spirit of exploration and finding creative solutions is a part of the education.
The Curriculum includes lecture courses, in theory, technical subjects, and studios according to the objectives of the program. Design studios focus on the development of students’ critical abilities with an aim not only confined to deriving suitable designs in response to a brief but also with a greater emphasis on the design process and research.
To enable students to pursue individual interests only three-quarters of the total academic workload is mandated. Students choose courses from the many available electives to complete the rest. Teachers are drawn from practicing professionals who bring practical experience to the classroom and academics and complement teaching with more theoretical and critical approaches.
A section of the graduating students also chooses to join large development / real estate firms. Some graduates of the program pursue teaching and research as a career path. Overall, there are vast opportunities for developing a successful career of one’s choice after graduating from this program. Admission and Perquisites
Admission to the program is based on academic history during undergraduate studies, portfolio, work experience and in-person / teleconference interview. The applications will be scrutinized in a two-stage evaluation process.
Master’s degree in any of the disciplines like Botany, Ecology, Horticulture, Geography, Agriculture, Forestry, Geology, Hydrology or similar natural sciences.Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor’s Degree in 4-year courses – Planning, Civil Engineering and Interior Design from recognized Universities.
The minimum requirement to apply for the programs is 55% aggregate marks (50% aggregate marks for reserved category) in the undergraduate program. Individual performance in final year thesis or dissertation will be considered. Two years’ professional and/or teaching experience along with computer drawing skills like CADD software are desirable.
