Introduction
The master's degree lasts one year. It consists of a group of subjects and workshops, of professional practices in the Editorial Office of La Nación and concludes with the presentation of a thesis.
The students study three days a week in the Aula-Redacción de LA NACION in Vicente López. There they work in the different fields of journalist training related to the writing, editing, and publication of the content of different formats and genres, as well as the production of journalistic narratives designed for circulation in traditional spaces, new distribution platforms, and social networks.
We aim to train professionals with a broad view of the needs of the audiences, always with high ethical and quality standards in journalistic practice. Our students learn to produce content considering all instances: from the genesis of an idea, through the development of the most complete narrative, to the final distribution circuit with the appropriate tone and approach to each platform. The Classroom-Newsroom was specially designed for the exclusive use of the Master's Degree and is equipped with the same technological tools applied to the daily work of LA NACION journalists. In addition, during the course, students have the opportunity to exchange experiences and consult the main local and international experts.
Theoretical courses are given at the UTDT on Fridays, given by academics specialized in relevant topics for journalistic practice. The range of subjects offered at the UTDT has also been renewed with recent developments in journalism in mind. In addition to the foundational courses in our Master's (Economics, History, Political Analysis, Nonfiction Literature, History of Argentine journalism), we have been including classes that respond to the reality of the profession and society today. We add courses on gender issues, in education and journalism, in reading and image production, in technological innovation. We have also incorporated an entrepreneurial course that equips our students with the practical tools necessary for a journalistic world with newsrooms every time. smaller and growing experimental ventures. Students participate in the vibrant climate of a university of excellence and a library whose collection in Social Sciences is among the most outstanding in the region.
Once the regular course in the two venues is finished, the last subject begins, which is professional practice.
