Master of Education Certificate in Elementary School Counseling
The Master of Education in Elementary School Counseling - Certification Program is designed to develop the competencies necessary for an individual to function as a counsellor in an elementary school setting. The program is structured to enable students to develop personal awareness of self as a counsellor, knowledge of counselling and educational concepts, and skills in counselling elementary school students. Included in this program is an emphasis on developing assessment and research skills and using research findings in school counselling.
This program consists of 51 semester hours. Upon successful program completion and qualifying scores on the PRAXIS examination, specialist certification as an Elementary School Counselor is granted through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
