OBJECTIVES

The Master of Economics in International Trade - International Business is a 2-year full-time English-taught program offered by School of Economics (SOE) at Xiamen University, the most beautiful university in China.

The program aims to give highly-qualified talent a rigorous understanding of the economics of international trade, finance, and development, with a focus on the rapidly changing role of China in this field. Successful students will gain insight into current and future trade issues and developments including China’s trade policies, as well as an understanding of economic and commercial decision making processes in China.

After graduation, the participants are suitable candidates for positions in multinational companies, financial organizations, and government departments or further their advanced study towards a Ph.D. degree in economics and economic policy.

PROGRAM DURATION: 2 years full-time study

TEACHING LANGUAGE: English

PROGRAM COMMENCEMENT: Fall semester

TUITION FEES: 72000RMB in total (for two years)

APPLICATION FEE: 400 RMB

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a non-Chinese passport and pass the required health check for visa holders in China.
  • Hold a recognized bachelors degree or above, or equivalent.
  • Have obtained a minimum score of 550 points or above for Old TOEFL, 80 points or above for New TOEFL, grade 6.0 or above for IELTS, or on presentation of a certificate from some other approved test of English proficiency. Native English speakers and applicants whose teaching language during undergraduate studies in English are exempt from this requirement. Other candidates whose university courses were taught in English will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • The ability to demonstrate relevant professional experience will be given individual consideration.


PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

The award of the master’s degree requires a total of at least 34 credits and a successful thesis oral defense. Credits are collected from courses and seminars:
