The study of learning contents takes place in small groups with modern, interactive forms of teaching and learning, in particular "problem-oriented learning" (POL), which serves the structured exchange of information and opinions as well as self-directed, intrinsically motivated acquisition of knowledge. On the basis of real cases, POL encourages self-reliant and independent learning among students and ensures that learning content is better understood and retained.
In addition to job-related imparting of theory and close contact with the practice, so-called self-awareness, especially in psychotherapy training, is a central element. At MHB , students have the opportunity to take part in up to 60 hours of therapeutic or group experience during the master's program. Here, in a protected environment, one's own experience and behavior, especially in challenging situations, are developed and reflected under the guidance of a supervisor. The self-awareness contributes to a deeper understanding of the therapeutic interaction and enhances the personal skills in dealing with patients.
