Take your research skills to a whole new level

The aim of the Master of Business Research is to train you in high-level business research, for either academic or senior management purposes. You will undertake a significant piece of research in your area of interest, using your specialist knowledge and advanced research techniques to explore the resolution of a management problem. It is expected that the research you conduct over several years will make an important contribution to the development of new knowledge, community development and solutions for industry and government.

Career outcomes

The Master of Business Research will enhance your role in senior management, or prepare you for a career in academia. It is also a stepping stone to further research degrees, such as a PhD.

Entry Requirements

  • 3-year bachelor-appropriate degree in business, commerce or a related field from a recognised university
  • Minimum GPA of 5.0 on a 7.0 point scale in undergraduate degree, or a minimum 5.5 for the 2nd and 3rd years of the degree
  • Applicants intending to undertake a dissertation in information systems must have prior studies in information systems or computing
  • On application, candidates must be able to provide an outline of the dissertation topic they intend to pursue

English Language Requirements

All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. This programme requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

If you do not meet the English language requirements, you may apply to study a University-approved English language programme.
