Founded in 2007, the Department of Journalism and Communication within the Faculty of Letters offers a multidisciplinary training which has a twofold objective. Firstly, as well utilizing new media, future journalists explore ways to improve their communication skills and experience in how to use various journalism genres. Moreover, they develop their comprehension capacities in evaluating events and social phenomena. Secondly, students gain knowledge of media discourse analysis, unbiased information and communication theories; all this will be tackled within a world where technology and its challenge are in constant evolution.


The Department issues the following diplomas, which are recognized by the Lebanese State:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communication (96 credits - 3 years)
  • Master of Research in Journalism and Communication (36 credits - 2 years)
  • Master of Professional Studies in E-Journalism and E-Communication: (36 credits - 2 years)
