When can I start the program?

Applications are accepted at any time. Once all application materials are received, you will usually receive a decision within one week. Terms start in the Fall, Spring or Summer.

What will I learn?

Bryant's Master of Arts in Communication allows you to specialize in Organizational Communication, Health Communication, or an individually tailored area of study.

You can take a variety of courses and gain knowledge in: leadership, training and development, risk and crisis communication, campaign design, managing conflict and negotiation, health communication, nonverbal communication, message design and human relationships, media's impact on human behavior, and intercultural and diversity in communication.

Learning objectives

Students graduating with a Master of Arts degree in Communication from Bryant University should be able to:

  • Identify current issues and trends impacting the field of Communication.
  • Design and conduct original scholarly or practical research through the complete cycle of preparation, problem definition, inquiry, analysis, and presentation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct scholarly or practical research in an ethical and responsible manner.
  • Understand the importance of applying advanced communication concepts to scholarly or practical problems outside the academy.

Our faculty are experts in organizational communication, health communication, media and communication, interpersonal communication, persuasion, risk, and crisis communication and more. In their classes and their research, they combine the latest theory with practical approaches. Through smaller class sizes, and personal mentoring, these caring and supportive faculty get to know you as an individual and help you to tailor your graduate experience to your career aspirations.

Requirements

Applications must be (or about to become) a graduate of an accredited, four-year college or university and submit the following: official transcripts, essay or GRE scores, 3 letters of recommendation, and a resume/vita.
