In co-operation with University of Technology Darmstadt, Germany
The Master program “Sustainable Urban Development” (SUD) at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is an interdisciplinary program, covering the subjects in the areas of traffic planning, management and economics, civil engineering, urban management and planning, ecology and social sciences.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- handle the highly complex process of urban planning and development in a quickly urbanizing country;
- to understand and analyze typical urban problems in a new and specific context;
- respond to previously identified problems and develop innovative sustainable approaches in urban planning and development.

These qualifications are particularly necessary for professionals working at leadership and/or decision-making level in public, private or civic organizations.
The two year Master's program “Sustainable Urban Planning” (SUP) consists of three thematic semesters of full-time study plus one semester for writing the master's thesis. Lectures are organized in a series of intensive modules taught by renowned German professors at VGU.
Successful students will be awarded an internationally acknowledged Master of Science (MSc.) Degree from a leading Germany University and from VGU, which also provides eligibility to register for Ph.D. programs in Germany, in all 27 EU member states, and worldwide.
The program starts once a year in September and complies with the EU Bologna standards comprising 120 credit points in line with the European Transfer Credit System (ECTS). A “Master of Science” degree will be awarded after the successful completion of the program.
