Most SIM graduates choose to pursue a career within consulting, financial services, industry, or entrepreneurship. The attractiveness of the program in the market makes it easy for the SIM students to reach out to potential employers. It is very common for students to have a few employment offers to choose from before graduating from the University of St. Gallen.
The Jacobs Business Fellowships
SIM-HSG also enables you to become a responsible leader and address the needs of business and society as a whole. The aim is to support you in finding a way in which you can change the world with your capabilities.
In line with this vision, in 2018 we started a cooperation with the Jacobs Foundation, where both parties are supporting each other in fostering meaningful capacity building and entrepreneurial activities withing young responsible global citizens. One aspect of the partnership is the "Jacobs Business Fellowships" for SIM graduates, which supports the social initiatives our graduates pursue.
The Jacobs Foundation was established in 1989 by Klaus J. Jacobs and his family and is today one of the world's leading charitable foundations. It supports research and intervention of the highest quality leading to significant vital outcomes for children and youth worldwide.
Each SIM course combines contact studies (lectures and tutorials) with independent study components.
Students need to successfully complete a course load of 90 ECTS, including a master's thesis and international internship to graduate with an M.A. HSG in Strategy and International Management.
Students must fulfill the following requirements:

The compulsory integrative week of the SIM Master's Programme "SIM Start Professional" takes place at the beginning of September (calendar week 36). The management-related topics dealt with in the individual seminars will prepare you for your regular studies in Strategy and International Management. Admitted applicants can obtain more information directly from the SIM Management Unit.
SIM Admission Criteria
Recognized degree with at least 180 ECTS credit points.
Language requirements in the language of instruction English.

The degree program starts in the autumn semester. The application is made online. The application fee is CHF 250.

Exclusive SIM-MBA Double Degree Programs
We offer our students the opportunity to earn two degrees - an MBA and the SIM Master's - in two years. Students spend their first year at the University of St. Gallen and their second year at the host University.
INCAE Business School - MBA
The SIM and INCAE MBA double degree program allows you to enrich your studies with a Latin American perspective. You will receive a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in combination with the SIM Master’s degree in two years. Studying at the INCAE MBA prepares you for the challenging business world at the interface of developed and emerging countries. This double degree is the ideal path if you wish to start your management career, distinguishing yourself from the unique Latin American perspective, and focus on sustainability. INCAE Business School is the leading business school in Latin America (Financial Times 2017).
Nanyang Business School - MBA
This prestigious double degree provides you with the unique opportunity to gain both Asian and European perspectives on business. You will simultaneously earn an MBA at Nanyang Business School (NBS) in Singapore and the SIM Master’s degree at the University of St.Gallen. Situated in Asia’s most liveable city, the Nanyang MBA is an intense global MBA with a focus on Asia. While in Singapore, you will have the opportunity to specialize in Strategy and Innovation or Banking and Finance. The Nanyang MBA was ranked 22nd globally by the Financial Times (2018).
Application & Requirements
Following an information session at the beginning of the Fall Semester, you are invited to apply for a nomination to one of the MBA Double Degree programs. Final approval depends on acceptance by both the University of St.Gallen and the partner university. Only one Double Degree opportunity can be accepted by each student.
