The cultural study is a special field of interdisciplinary approaches to culture and society analysis. The program is aimed at the Russian socio-cultural phenomenon research that covers such significant issues as history, religion, literature, philosophy, architecture, art, and peculiarities of the Russian cultural archetype.

Why our program?
This program is suited for foreign students with basic knowledge of Russian and Russian Culture. While the program is realized in English, students are given the opportunity to learn the Russian Language and choose courses taught in Russian in the 2nd year of the program. Studying for a Master’s degree also includes research into National Identity, Cultural Industries in Russia, Russian Political History, Russian Art, Russian Cinema, Don Cossacks culture, especially focuses on the cultural background of Soviet and Post-Communist Russia.

Program graduates acquire a profound knowledge of the Russian Culture and are able to understand the depth of processes taking place in Modern Russia. Admission requirements for Master’s program
Required knowledge of English (preferably B2 and higher), basic knowledge of Russian (optional)

Graduate of the Master's program:
able to organize research and project work in the field of cultural studies and socio-cultural design;
ready to use in organizational and managerial work modern knowledge about culture in general, and about Russian culture in particular;
the ability to build interpersonal and intercultural communication;
able to apply in practice the knowledge of the theoretical foundations of management in the socio-cultural sphere.
has the skills of project-analytical and expert activity in the field of culture;
capable of implementing the directions of the state cultural policy related to the preservation and development of artistic, cultural and historical heritage;
ready to create and implement social and cultural programs in the mass communications system.
