First time in the region, the School of Economics and Business proudly presents Master of Property – Advanced Finance in cooperation with the University of Melbourne. The program aims at achieving a specialist knowledge and the professional standing in the field of property – applied finance.
This professional course is intended for graduates keen to acquire an indebt understanding of the structure and operations of the property sector. It is rather popular because it ecompases a diverse range of skills. It allows students to develop / enhance expertise in professional fields such as property funding, valuation, management and development. The ethos of the course is to offer learnings that introduce underpinning theories and then through case study analysis underpin its practical orientation. The course has a strong commercial focus, a practical orientation, and provides the student with the essential knowledge and necessary skills.
Graduates with a property specialization find employment as property valuers, property funding specialists (e.g. banking), land economists, property managers, property analysts, property investment advisers (e.g. pension funds, property stock brokers, insurance companies), property development advisers, etc.

The course has been developed in a cooperation with the University of Melbourne, Australia. The University of Melbourne has the identical course, which holds the prestigeous internation professional accreditation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This master’s course is in the process of applying for the same accreditation.

As people, governments, banks and commercial organizations continue to demand more assurance of certified standards and ethics, attaining RICS status is the recognised mark of property professionalism. Created in 1868 and with 91,000 members in 146 countries, RICS represents professionals working in property, land and the built environment all around the world.
This program is intended for those who want to specialize in the property industry and by doing so gain professional qualification this incresaingly demanded professional filed. Candidates who have appropriate experience in the bussines of managing property in companies and financial institutions, through these studies, have the opportunity to expand ther existing but also embrace new knowledge in the areas such as:
- Property valuation and analysis;
- Property finance (banks, insurance companies, superannuation companies, etc);
- Development and management of property; and
- Professional practice in a property context.
Students coming from a non cognate area
Students coming from a non cognate area (students with degrees other than property, and related fields), to become professionally prepared for a career in property, will need to undertake an additional preparatory two semesters (Entry Year).
- Completion of at least 3 years undergraduate studies with at least 65 per cent average in the final two years of undergraduate studies; and
- Submission of a motivation letter (up to 1,000 words); outlining relevant previous education and work experience alongside motivation/reason for interest in the course.
