Program Description

The Master in Production - Line Producer offers you the theoretical-technical knowledge of film production, training you to develop successfully in the direction of production of a feature film or TV series, from the conception of the script to the standard copy and its promotion.

You will learn the methods and techniques of the production processes during the preparation, filming and postproduction of a feature film or any other audiovisual work, and you will be able to carry out the production direction of a feature film or any other audiovisual work.

Who is it for?

Graduates and graduates in Business Administration and Management, Advertising and Public Relations, Law, Audiovisual Communication or other university degrees related to the audiovisual field.

Likewise, professionals from the cinematographic or videographic sector who want to deepen their knowledge of the creation of cinematographic projects.

Competencies

  • Carry out the production direction of a feature film or any other audiovisual work.
  • Know the methods and techniques of the production processes during the preparation, filming and postproduction of a feature film or any other audiovisual work, and be able to carry them out.
  • Plan the calendar for a specific audiovisual production taking into account the different processes of creating an audiovisual work.
  • Provide for the needs and resources required to carry out a specific audiovisual production through the production design and the working documents derived from it.
  • Master the techniques and mechanisms of productive management throughout the process of ideation, development and exploitation of an audiovisual project.
  • Properly manage the filming process of the audiovisual work correctly applying the previously worked production design.
  • Manage and coordinate the processes related to the postproduction of the audiovisual work, showing knowledge of the different areas, processes and techniques, as well as the correct development of them.

Methodology

Theoretical-practical classes: the student will work during the Master in a real feature film project, working on the different aspects of the production process of this.

Masterclasses: In a complementary way to the main subjects, during the course sessions are arranged in the form of MasterClass where different first figures of the audiovisual business share their vital experience with the students. As they are active professionals, their assistance depends on availability.

  • Production management

Contents: • Movie Magic Schedulling: the breakdown method and the shooting plan. Breakdown techniques MMS Breakdown Quick Tutorial. Quick Entry Widow. Lnfo Window element. ID reunmber MMS Stripboard. Sort & Select 1st Schedule MMS Design areas: reports, categories & scripts. DOOD • Production calendar. Introduction to the budget and the technical team. • Recruitment of technical and artistic team. Production team. Positions, organization chart and functions. Recruitment cards, calendars, contract models and applicable labor agreements. The image rights. • Production coordination. Administration and production secretariat. Production Bible Production schedule • Postproduction direction. Postproduction processes in rooms and laboratory. Calendar, coordination and budgets. Supplier agenda. • Excel budget. ICAA model. Study of items, application and cost control. The variable method. • Movie Magic Budgeting budget. Dreamworks, BBC, Columbia, Global, Subgrous & Fringes models. • Cost control. Treasury plans, payment plans and accounting.

  • Production manager

Provide students with the necessary knowledge and techniques so that they can carry out the tasks of the Production Department in the filming of an audiovisual work. Contents: • Production of filming. • Locations: rapports, chas, contracts and permits. • Filming logistics.

  • Audiovisual law

Provide the student with the necessary knowledge about the specific legal framework of the audiovisual sector. Contents: • Recruitment of author: screenwriter, musician and director. • Introduction to the Intellectual Property Law applied to the film project. • Study of the different contract models and variables.

  • Production techniques

Provide students with the necessary knowledge of the Excel program so that they can use it properly in their work as production manager. Contents: Excel basics.

  • The assistant director

Provide students with knowledge about the dynamics of a shoot in the management team and their links with the rest of the teams. Introduce them in the tasks of the assistant director, second assistant, assistant and script. Contents: • The management team: functions of its components. • First elements: script, preparation calendar and breakdown. • Work items: information and organization. • The shooting plan. • Casting and locations. • Work planning.

  • Executive producer

Provide students with an introduction to the tasks of the executive producer. Contents: • Executive Producer and Line Producer. Creative production. The design of the film project. Project, production and exploitation. Calendars of production and combined processes. • The film as a product. The exploitation of the cinematographic film. Methods, circuits and results.
