The Autonomous University of Guerrero is a young institution, but at the same time thriving and in constant transformation. The maximum house of studies of Guerrero was born as a result of the struggle of the popular classes of the entity for better education and for an institution that contributes to the economic, political, and social development of the State of Guerrero. The current conditions facing Mexican higher education, among which the drastic competition in a globalized economy and the vertiginous development of science and technology stand out, demand that the Institutions offer a quality service. This implies, among other significant items, that educational action at this level should focus on social relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness. Aware that our fundamental task is to train highly competitive citizens in the labor market, it is equally important that these professionals have a high social commitment, especially with the sectors that gave rise to our University: the marginalized sectors. That is the challenge we have set ourselves, high academic quality, and high social commitment. Read less
