Synthesis and processing of special metallic materials
This specialization enables masters to improve in a versatile, high-current field of special metallic materials with applications in the industry's top ranges. The need for new materials with properties tailored to serve a well- is steadily increasing. In this context, the master "Synthesis and processing of special metallic materials" is addressed to all graduates of bachelor programs in the fields of engineering sciences and exact sciences. The main objective of this program is to provide a thorough multidisciplinary training required for the implementation of new technologies in the material industry. Obtaining a Master's degree in this specialization increases the chances of employment in the field of materials as well as in other related fields.
Advanced techniques for processing of metallic materials
The objectives of the master program are to present advanced techniques of hot processing of metallic materials, including metal matrix composites. It is thus possible to gain knowledge about the modern methods currently used for the processing of metallic materials by casting and plastic deformation, gaining new skills such as those related to the guided solidification of cast alloys, thermomechanical processing of special purpose materials, advanced refining of alloys or their recycling. Also, there are presented advanced techniques of scientific research in this field by mathematical modeling and computer optimization of the phenomena that occur during the processing of metallic materials.
Science and expertise of advanced metallic materials
The training within the specialization has as objectives the knowledge and assimilation of the theoretical notions regarding the fundamental processes that take place in obtaining the materials with special properties, the knowledge of the specific technologies for obtaining special metallic materials, the ability to offer innovative technical solutions in the elaboration of the special materials, analysis and synthesis in the research of new materials. The activity at the specialization is coordinated by the Department of Materials Science, Physical Metallurgy and supported by the oldest research center established within the faculty (1994), namely the Research and Expertise Center for Metal Materials. The acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities are sufficient to enable graduates to engage in the labor market, develop their own business, continue their studies in the doctoral program, and improve permanently.
Material Testing Science and Management
The proposed complementary master program is designed to provide both the scientific and technological training of learners in a wide range of material trials and the deepening of the quality management concept (technical management, laboratory management, quality assurance of results). Objective: To train specialists in the testing of materials and products and to assess their compliance, according to the requirements, national and European Union laws and regulations. These aspects are mastered by applied research in which students design and implement procedures specific to the Laboratory Quality Manual as well as operational procedures related to an attempt, including the elaboration of the uncertainty budget and the estimation of measurement uncertainty. An importance is given to the microeconomics of the laboratory, project management and other specific issues, such as traceability and increased analytical efficiency.
