The focus area of the profile is Management of People. This profile will expand the students’ competencies in contemporary management and organization that enable students to develop structured and principled insights regarding the salient issues of managing people. Its contents represent state-of-the-art in management and organization research and practice.
Students on this profile will have greater knowledge within the main subjects that are relevant for this profile: Foundations of Management, Foundations of Organization, Human Resource Management, Personnel Economics, Leadership and Organizational Communication, and Corporate Strategy and Organization Design. These courses combine three distinct tracks: The first relates to human resource management, the second to the key challenges of managing people, and the third to analyzing and designing organizations. Each track has a clear progression that develops students’ knowledge about theories and how to apply these to practical business issues.
Finally, the student will gain competences as regards to corporate staff functions, general or human resource management, and consulting. The profile is particularly suitable for students who want to pursue a career in the field of human resource management. The profile develops students’ theoretical and practical skills that enable them to take charge of key management functions and projects in human resource management. The profile develops students’ ability to think in principled ways about the key policies and choices of recruiting and retaining talent, and how to apply their skills in the design of policies and programmes.
The teaching methods on the programme vary and will consist of both lectures and teaching in smaller groups. Many students form study groups, either for the entire two-year programme og maybe just for a single course.
The exams will be both oral and written exams according to the individual courses. An internship is often finished with some sort of report and the Master’s thesis is a major written project that finishes up the entire degree.
In all sorts of reports and exams it is important that you are able to argue and refer correctly to source material. Otherwise you may be accused of plagiarism.
