The cultural and professional objective of the degree course in management engineering is to create professionals who are able to fill organizational and managerial roles for which basic technological skills are required.
The cultural profile is characterized by an interdisciplinary, flexible and systemic mentality: the functions that the management engineer is called to perform concern the monitoring of the innovation and change processes that characterize the business systems in their physical components to an increasingly significant extent , organizational and informational.
At the same time the degree course provides the basis for the preparation of highly qualified technicians who, through the continuation of the studies, will be able to promote technological innovation and to design and manage complex systems. The main areas of competence of the three-year Management Engineer are business economics, business management, management and organization of production systems, business logistics (procurement, material handling, transport and distribution).

The Department of Engineering and Architecture is located inside the university settlement commonly known as "Campus di via Langhirano", which is located about 4 km from the center of Parma in the direction of Langhirano and can be reached in the following ways: By bus from the railway station. From the railway station and from the city center frequent connections are active through lines 7, 14 and 21 (the latter excluding the month of August); journey approximately 25 minutes. Follow the signs for Langhirano. After about 4 km, at the edge of the built-up area of Parma, there is a large roundabout dominated by a viaduct: take the street on the right with the indication for the University. By car from Milan or Bologna (Highway A1). Exit at the PARMA exit.
The Campus is on the opposite side of the city and can be reached with the following route: After the toll booth keep to the right and follow the signs for "Tangenziale - SS 9 Via Emilia". After about 2 km take the west ring road on the right following the signs for Piacenza-Langhirano or Milan. After about 4 km take the exit on the right towards the exits 10-19 and continue on the ring road (south) for about 7 km following the signs for Langhirano and the University ("U"). Leave the ring road at exit no. 15; at the next roundabout take the road on the right with the indication for the Campus. By car from the Cisa motorway (A15). Exit at the PARMA WEST tollbooth and after the exit AVOID the indication "Parma" (winding path) taking RIGHT instead following the indication "Pontetaro" and entering the Via Emilia. Continue for 4 km until a roundabout near the Hotel "Parma e Congressi": take the ring road towards Parma. After 2.5 km take the exit on the right towards the exits 10-19 and continue on the ring road (south) for about 7 km following the signs for Langhirano and the University ("U"). Leave the ring road at exit no. 15; at the next roundabout take the road on the right with the indication for the Campus.
