Introduction

The Master’s programme leads to an official Spanish diploma in Leisure Management: Culture, Tourism, Sport, and Recreation. Offered since 1989/1990, it is designed to train competent professionals in line with the needs of the current social panorama which regards leisure as a first-rate value, on which much of citizens' well-being and quality of life depends, as well as the political, economic and social development of contemporary societies.

This Master's programme has been designed to train professionals who wish to update their knowledge about Leisure Project Management with regard to facilities, programmes, and services; as well as to the design of policies, educational intervention, entertainment and management in the fields of culture, tourism, sport and recreation. Students enrolled in the Master’s programme can also choose an academic track that equips them with the competencies and tools needed to enter the Ph.D. programme.

This programme prepares competent professionals to satisfactorily meet today’s needs. Emphasis is placed on innovative approaches to the challenges in an industry which is distinctive for its dynamics and creativity.

Student profile

Who is the programme aimed at?

Candidates must hold a Spanish BA, diploma degree certificate or equivalent foreign qualifications.
The Master’s is aimed at those interested in becoming experts in the management of leisure projects in the field of culture, sport, tourism, and recreation. It is also designed for professionals, with or without experience in the sector, who wish to acquire a solid grounding in management and gain direct contact with leading organizations and professionals in the sector.

Therefore, this Master's degree is open to students from a wide range of disciplines such as Education, Psychology, Business Administration, Communication, Advertising, Political Science, Tourism, History, Law, Architecture...

You will work as...

Graduates in Leisure Management can take on different positions of responsibility (management, organization, promotion, dynamization, intervention, etc.) or pursue entrepreneurial projects in leisure industries and companies in the fields of culture, sport, tourism, and recreation.

During the last 25 years, our students have been recruited by numerous cultural (museums, municipal arts centre, theatres or cultural project management companies), sport (facilities or sport management companies), tourism (tourism promotion bodies, travel agencies, consultancies, DMCs) recreational (theme parks, entertainment companies) organizations.

Students obtain knowledge and practical work experience thanks to our internship programme.

The last study on employability conducted in 2015 showed that 80% of the 2013 graduating class found jobs following completion of the Master’s programme.
