The Internet of Things (IoT) revolution is drastically changing the way we perceive products, services, and processes. The possibility to build and connect smart objects, and to use them in innovative ways, opens new prospectives at any level: consumer, enterprise and socially.
The Master in Internet of Things aims to prepare professional profiles (IoT experts) able to combine the technological promise of the Internet with innovation, within companies and organizations of any sector. The IoT expert is able to analyze processes and identify the opportunities that smart objects allow, which can be converted into new models and procedures, improving the processes efficiency. In addition, the IoT expert knows how to create and offer products, services, and innovative processes, transforming the company where he/she operates and increasing its level of competitiveness.
Beyond the mere understanding of the technological IoT stack, the Master is organized around the potential "innovation IoT stack": build, select, imagine. At the end of the Master, the IoT expert knows how to harness potentialities on the device level (build), identify the innovation opportunities (select), and purpose new service and process models (imagine).
Coherently, the Master in IoT is structured according to three guidelines: the training in basic technology, the understanding of models and economical processes, and the presentation of specific application cases where the IoT technologies are already showing their innovative power (domain-specific courses). These three guidelines are interconnected with each other throughout the Master program.
The program combines technological concepts with business ones, introducing real-world cases of success, whereas the education-oriented around business adopts case studies focused on IoT domains. The domain-specific courses, in turn, present concrete cases of technology application in different and relevant areas, allowing the students to tests their educational level, thanks to laboratory activities and the development of solutions for complex case studies.
The Master is structured into two terms of classroom-based lessons in English and 500 hours of work experience over a total of 12 months. This program allows the acquisition of a specialized skill set, both economic and technical, and the practical application of these skills, facilitating access to the labor market.
