Description

The Internet of Things (IoT) represents a new stage in the digital revolution, fully contributing to the construction of a digital society. Several sectors of the digital society use or will use the internet of objects to improve deployment, exploitation and industrialization procedures. These include intelligent transport, smart grids, smart city, industry 4.0, and so on. The issues concerning the mastery of the technologies and processes around the internet of objects are enormous and require a very high level of expertise with cutting-edge skills in multidisciplinary areas.

Objectives

  • Design tools for processing and analyzing large amounts of data from sensors;
  • Design and develop IoT applications and services adapted to industrial needs
  • Understand and design communication mechanisms adapted to the constraints of the sensors (energy consumption, lack of computing capacities)
  • Acquire dual competences technical courses in advanced fields (data exploitation, software development, communication networks in constrained environments, Machine Learning, sensor security) associated with courses in Innovation, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, etc.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible, Candidates need

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum 3 years of higher education) in a relevant field
  • Strong foundation in mathematics
  • A certified B2 level in English. No requirement is needed in French as the program is fully taught in English.

Course Description

Project 6

Supervised Semester Projects are based on real-case studies of industrial relevance. They combine a blend of theoretical and practical work (developing new prototypes and tools, testing new technologies, assessing current systems and solutions…). Students can work individually or in a group of 2/3. The expected workload is 100hours of individual work per semester. A defense is organized at the end of each semester. Projects provide students with hands-on skills by allowing them to put concepts into practice.

Semester 4 Spring (February-August)

Research/Industrial Master Thesis (paid) 30 ECTS

The last semester of the Master is a paid Thesis / Internship to be carried out in a company or lab in France or abroad. Students work on a research/development project under the supervision of a professor and an industrial mentor.

Students are integrated as part of the staff and receive a Monthly Allowance, the amount of the allowance depends on the company and position, it varies between 600€ to 1600€ /month).

EURECOM provides students with an updated database of paid internship opportunities offered by companies allowing them to send their application.
