What will I learn by studying this Master?
The student will reinforce his/her knowledge applied to international economic relations, which will provide him/her with a higher academic value due to the evident interconnection existing among economies in an increasingly globalized world.
The student will also acquire economic and legal skills applied to both bilateral and multilateral relations established among different countries.
Is this Master Official in accordance with the regulations of the European Higher Education Area?
Students must hold a Spanish official university degree or equivalent issued by European Higher Education institutions entitling candidates to access Master's studies in the issuing country.
The key objectives of the program are:
- To provide a solid understanding of the most relevant international economic institutions, with a special emphasis on those areas related to international trade.
- To further knowledge in international regulations and financing.
- To enforce the use of qualitative and quantitative skills needed for undertaking international financing analysis.
- To broaden the understanding of the issues related to international economic relations and the legal and economic contexts where international transactions are usually developed.
- CG0I Synthesis and analysis ability. The student will be able to recognize the most salient features guiding analysis and synthesis. They will equally get familiarized with the strategies and techniques required for developing structured and coherent analysis.
- CG02 Basic skills for the correct use of computer systems. The development of information and communication technologies within educational contexts requires the correct analysis of world affairs the use of the main sources of information contained in computer supports. In this regard, the student will acquire the skills required for the selection, acquisition, and use of computing tools related to economic and legal issues in international settings.
- CG03 Criticism and self-criticism ability. The student will learn how to detect and solve problems and take decisions by considering all the possible alternatives, characteristics, standards and optimal results.
- CG04 The ability to put into practice all the theoretical knowledge previously acquired related to international economic relations.
- CG05 The ability for autonomous learning. The student will get familiarized with autonomous learning strategies.
- CG06 The ability to take part actively in all the tasks proposed by the teachers and enhance social relations and integration skills. The development of collaborative work either in specific or multidisciplinary teams will be equally promoted.
- CG07 Research abilities. The student will acquire the skills needed for conducting research and organizing the information obtained throughout the research process.
- CG08- The ability to acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of international economic relations, and demonstrate -in the context of scientific and technological research- a detailed and soundly based comprehension of both, theoretical and practical elements, putting into practice successful working methodologies applied to different areas of study.
- CG09 The ability to apply previous knowledge in the field of international economic relations to newly specialized settings characterized by a high level of multidisciplinarity.
- CG10 The ability to foresee and control the evolution of complex situations at an international level through the development of innovative working methodologies adapted to scientific, technological or professional settings.
- CG11 The ability to transmit clearly and unambiguously to both experts and non-specialists the findings derived from scientific and technological research and convey in a successful way the most relevant grounds they rely on.

- CG13 The ability to identify different alternatives and make rational elections that might contribute to successful decision-making.
- CG14 The ability to acquire multiculturalism awareness based on mutual knowledge and respect.

- CE02 The ability to acquire an in-depth understanding of international regulations related to trade, financial and legal affairs.
- CE03 The ability to identify and interpret quantitatively and qualitatively parameters, indicators, graphs and tables related to international economic relations.
- CE04 The ability to carry out comparative analyses, being able to integrate previous knowledge and make judgments on the basis of incomplete or limited pieces of information containing concluding thoughts on social and ethical responsibilities.
- CE05 The ability to transfer and apply principles and strategies previously learned to new situations for the purpose of fostering the development of less-favored social groups.
- CE06 The ability to apply advanced models of financial rating within international settings.
- CE07 The ability to obtain and interpret economic and financial data.
- CE08 The ability to understand the rationale of foreign trade from a theoretical and practical insight, being able to understand the international relations and agreements established among different countries, the diverse trade policy instruments, the Incoterms and the real problems related to international recruiting and business risk management.
- CE09 The acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge of the European Union legal system.
- CE10 The acquisition of the skills needed to give a legal response to specific problems derived from international mergers, insolvency of natural persons and/or legal entities, and cross-border transfers of company seats.
- CE11 The ability to achieve a better understanding of the economic realities of developing regions and countries.
- CE12 The ability to apply and contrast advanced models of economic growth in international contexts through the use of various statistical techniques.
Access and Enrolment
A commission appointed by the Academic Director of the Masters and composed by himself and two teachers from the areas of Economics and Law will be responsible for the assessment of the students’ basic knowledge on the areas related to the program by means of a personal interview and a written test.
In the event the demand for seats for the Master's program surpassed the offer, the selection criteria would be as follows:
- 70%: personal interview and written test.
- 30%: curriculum vitae assessment (academic profile, professional experience, and academic and professional projection in connection with the main objectives of the Masters).
The Director of the Masters will be responsible for the selection of all the candidates.
The following parameters will be considered: the student’s academic record, his/her curriculum vitae, professional experience, and motivation.
Seats offered: 30 places. In the event the number of applicants did not reach the minimum number required the course might not be offered.

The subject Internships is a curricular subject whose fundamental objective is to encourage the comprehensive training of the student through the practical application of the knowledge acquired in the degree, which facilitates direct contact with the professional activity and offers the opportunity for students to incorporate themselves in the professional world with a minimum level of experience. All the internships are designed so that students who participate in them acquire professional experience in real situations and conditions, applying the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are acquired in the educational process during the degree. These internships are an important opportunity for the personal and professional development of the students.
The internships are activities that the student undertakes in companies, institutions, and organizations; that is, in centers external to the university, and that have as their objective to enrich and complement their university studies, while also offering deeper knowledge related to the skills that will be needed once they graduate.
The Internship subject has two phases:
- First, doing the internship, which offers professional experience related to the profile of the graduate and that is shown in the Verification Report of the degree.
- Second, preparation of the report.
