Master program in international Business

Business has become increasingly international during the last decades and international business comprises a large and growing portion of the world’s total business. Today, almost all companies, small, medium-sized and large, are affected by international events and competition. This development requires deep knowledge and professional capability in the field of international business from those who operate in today’s companies. The Master Program in International Business offers you such a knowledge and capability and gives you the tools to meet such challenge.


The program’s major field of study is in business administration with a focus on international business. The business administration courses (major) are added with courses in economics and economic geography. Both scientific theory and methods within the field of business administration will be explored. The program consists of 45 ECTS in business administration (which includes a master thesis, 15 ECTS, and business research methods 7.5 ECTS), international economics 7.5 ECTS and international trade and development 7.5 ECTS. The program culminates in a master thesis in which the student will apply business administration knowledge through a larger independent project.

Work integrated learning

Work-integrated Learning (WiL) is an important pedagogical component and is included in the program in a variety of ways. Certain courses of study are, for example, comprised of independent project work conducted in conjunction with local organizations.

Admission requirements

Bachelor degree of 180 HE credits with 90 HE credits in the major subject area of business administration or equivalent. Verified knowledge of English corresponding to the course English B in the Swedish Upper Secondary School or equivalent.

English requirements: IELTS: An overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5. TOEFL: Paper-based: Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575 Internet-based: Score of 20 (scale0-30) in written test and a total score of 90.

Scholarships are available for non-EU/EES citizens.
