The new Postgraduate Degree in International Accounting, which is taught fully in English, is an extension of the Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration (now Business Management) and is part of the international initiative of the School of Management and Economics, which is now recognized in many international scientific agreements and exchange programs for students and academics from foreign universities.
Educational aims and objectives
The International Accounting degree provides students with an excellent education in accounting, enabling immediate, practical application in the European and global business environment.
Once he graduates, the student can perform professional and managerial high-level tasks and is able to optimise the economic and financial management thanks to his complete knowledge of the following fields:
- Economic and financial information for stockholders (accounting and balance sheet);
- Economic and financial information for corporate groups (consolidated balance);
- Financial analysis and management of financial resources;
- Internal auditing for an adequate Corporate Governance;
- Orientation in the juridic and fiscal frame of reference;
- Application of the international account standards.
The education path involves the study of logic and techniques necessary for the proper performance of the above functions combining the know-how in the field of economic financial management with the knowledge of the organizational and managerial problems.
A usual career progression could lead to roles such as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and consequently could allow for obtaining top management positions (i.e. Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director), while at the same time not compromising a possible career progression in other functional areas.
