The Master in Interior Design meets the needs of professionals from several disciplines related to design and architecture interested in completing their training focusing specifically on interior design for commercial spaces. Starting from the particular needs of this type of space, students work in a multidisciplinary manner on tools that permit the interpretation of brands’ commercial needs, always from the standpoint of design. This way, the course is directed to the real and professional treatment of retail design, working in close proximity to existing and original commercial situations supported by contributions from real clients.

Comprehend the aspects that need to be taken into consideration in the conception process of any projects, as well as the range of professionals that the designer may need to work within permanent collaboration when undertaking projects in relation with interior design.
- Acquire knowledge of sustainability, project management, architectural criticism or lighting, composing a multifaceted perspective over the complex current commercial reality.
The nature of the course is based on a combination of theory and practice. All theoretical approaches are always put in question from a real application dimension, and directed for experimentation through projects assessed by professors of different subjects. Each project is sustained by a strong conceptual support, by in the end conclusions are taken to their building and economical consequences. This method allows no mistake in the project plan and execution, so the theoretical and practical result is highly cohesive.
Professionals with at least two years of experience, graduates in disciplines related to design, preferentially in architecture, interior design or industrial design. Other professional profiles, not strictly related to design but with a good background on spatial design, elaboration of concepts to be applied on projects and command on contemporary digital graphic representation tools, can be taken into consideration
The student ends the course being able to propose new commercial spaces, both sustainable and innovative from a business perspective, underpinned by feasibility plans that will be developed throughout the course. The development of designers’ own competences offers students a comprehensive training to embrace any type of project related to the commercial world.
Students are prepared to provide added value to interdisciplinary work teams, architecture and design studios, or as freelancers, creating an innovative business or from their own studio.
Some fields of application within the interior design for commercial spaces are brand image management and definition, window dressing, corporate events design, a creation of fashion, or any other type of product, commercial spaces, projects for restaurant and catering industries.

- Timetable: 18.30 p.m to 10.30 p.m
- The educational planning for all IED Master courses is aligned with the criteria established by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The IED Master program has adopted a credit structure that follows the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The IED Master issues private degrees.
