Master in Innovation and Design Management
The need to innovate to achieve business excellence has contributed to change the role of design in the fields of business. The interrelationship between management and design is fundamental at a strategic level to provide to organizations a pioneer position, to obtain profitability and to create value. The Master in Innovation and Design Management gives to professionals this new perspective on their work. The Postgraduate Degree in Design Management emphasizes in the acquisition of business management skills, while at the Postgraduate Degree in Innovation and Design Thinking delves on how to innovate from the Design Thinking.
The Master in Innovation and Design Management (60 ECTS) is obtained by completing two postgraduate degrees, for 30 ECTS each. These postgraduate degrees may be completed in the same academic year, or in different years. All postgraduate courses that are part of a master's degree can be taken independently.
Innovation and internationalization have emerged as the key strategies in the current economic context. New ecosystems and business strategies arise in the process of the paradigm shift from product design to service design.
The design of experiences requires multi-skilled professionals with strategic and tactical proficiency when moving the customer/user to the center of the design process and the business strategy.
Design Thinking has enabled the designer to become the agent of change in organizations and to act as a lever of transformation in this new way of working, enabling innovation in processes, products, services, communication and business strategy.
To that end, and based on the Lean Start-up philosophy, the specific techniques of the different stages of the innovation cycle will be applied to Customer Development, Value Proposition, Service Design and Business Design processes. New techniques and processes that will make possible the alignment of the business vision and its value proposition with the strategies and principles of the customer’s experience.

To acquire the tools and knowledge for the management of innovation for developing innovative products, services, communications and a business model with an organizational impact.
To learn the techniques, gain experience and develop real projects by the use of Design Thinking methodologies to design services and new business models (Business Design & Lean Start-up). SYLLABUS
This postgraduate course is divided into 4 modules, the fourth being the development of a Final Research Project to end the course.

Qualification: Postgraduate Degree in Innovation and Design Thinking accredited by the Universidad de Vic-UCC. Students without university degrees will receive a University Extension Studies Diploma.

Access: Graduates. Undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts and Design, and those related to the following professional categories: interior design, graphic design, industrial design, and arts applied to clothing. Professionals from the sector without specific training but who can demonstrate professional expertise. Applicants will undergo a selection process for acceptance on the course.
Observations: Intensive Spanish course for foreign students willing to apply to the Master degree (optional course). From Sept. 10th to October, 2nd; from Monday to Friday (4h/day) – 395€.
