Information Technology

Information Technology jobs are among the highest paid and have the highest job satisfaction. Computing is very often associated with innovation, and developments in computing tend to drive innovation, therefore we insist on teaching research and development skills. The possibilities for future developments are expected to be even greater than they have been in the past. Computing career has space for both collaborative work and individual effort.

The Master Course in Information Technology is a two year full-time English taught study program, which focuses on producing highly-skilled engineers familiarized with the current techniques. Graduates have advanced knowledge of the main topics in the field of information technology, knowledge of the state-of-the-art technologies and the ability to select and applying them to advanced project development, innovation and research abilities, communication, inter-disciplinary co-operation and team project management skills.

Courses

First semester:

  • Research topics in information technology
  • Electives 1, 2, 3 (choose 3 courses out of 9 options): Distributed systems; Testing of computer systems; Data transmission, coding, and compression; Smart sensors and sensor networks; Component-based software engineering; Advanced digital signal processing; Emergent and collective intelligence systems; Advanced web programming; Advanced software technologies

Second semester:

  • Introduction to research
  • Electives 4, 5, 6 (choose 3 courses out of 7 options): Advanced databases; Development of complex distributed applications; Information technology project management; Integrated information systems; Real-time system design; Cellular data networks; Applied mathematics

Third semester:

  • Directed thesis research
  • Electives 7, 8, 9 (choose 3 courses out of 9 options): Distributed systems; Testing of computer systems; Data transmission, coding, and compression; Smart sensors and sensor networks; Component-based software engineering; Advanced digital signal processing; Emergent and collective intelligence systems; Advanced web programming; Advanced software technologies

Fourth semester:

  • Research activity and internship
  • Master thesis development and defense

  • Citizens of the European Union, EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) and the Swiss Confederation: 3900 RON (approx. 850 EUR)/ academic year
  • Citizens of all other countries: 2430 EUR/ academic year

Deadlines:

  • Citizens of the European Union, EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) and the Swiss Confederation: first round of registrations between July 3rd and July 21st, 2017, the second round between September 11th and 13th 2017.
