Then this master program is for you by providing you with skills and knowledge about the social and technical aspects needed to use IT in order to improve organisations and businesses. Information technology is today an integrated part of all organisations and businesses. Today there is therefore a need for a new expertise that is innovative and that skilfully combines the technical, organisational and social skills required to make IT-systems truly useful for people and organisations. We focus on the building blocks necessary to harness technology for development: Users, Organization, Technology, and Economy. Our Master gives you the skills by providing scientific knowledge and opportunities to apply these to real-life settings. We provide cutting edge scientific and practitioner expertise and a vast network of experts to become part of. You become an expert able to provide the necessary cross-sector integration necessary to manage change in situations with multiple and conflicting interests, including departmental and business interests, regulatory and legal standards and norms, and human and social concerns. Our Master in Informatics/Information Systems prepares you well for working life and includes two specialisations: IT project management and IT in public sector. Specialization IT project management: This specialization gives you the skills to initiate and lead IT- projects in order to solve strategic and operative problems in organisations. Central skills concern system requirement, project work and management, evaluation and investment assessment. Specialization IT in public sector: This specialization gives you the skills needed to understand and act upon the technical, organizational and sociological changes that occur when IT is used in public sector. You will know how information is created and used in organizational processes and how these processes can be managed and improved. Central skills concern how IT is used in public sector; political and democratic dimensions; management and infrastructures; e-services; process modelling and enterprise architecture. During our Master you will also enhance your skills in professional writing and communication. You can also influence your specialization via assignments and thesis writing.
Specific entry requirements
A first-cycle qualification comprising at least 180 credits, of which at least 90 credits are for specialised study in a main field of study and at least 60 credits are for courses in informatics or computer science. The applicant must also have qualifications corresponding to the course "English 6" or "English B" from the Swedish Upper Secondary School.

The career opportunities for skilled IT systems developers are very good. After finishing the Master you can work as an IT-consultant or project leader.
