We are living in a digital world. Rapidly evolving information technologies drive the digital transformation of products, services, and organizations. Successful enablers of digital transformation require a profound understanding and integration of business and information technology.

In the recent years, the topic of digital transformation in companies and the needs of qualified employees has developed rapidly. In the context in digital transformation, companies face the challenge of qualifying their employees as an "enabler" at the interface of business and IT.

In the new Master Program in Information Systems Engineering & Management, IT specialists and computer scientists, as well as business administrators and engineers, will be enabled to advance internal and external digitalization and to assume leadership functions, especially in the field of digital transformation of companies.

Target Group

In the new Master Program in Information Systems Engineering & Management, Line of Business representatives with business or engineering background as well as IT specialists will be enabled to advance internal and external digitalization and to assume leadership functions, especially in the field of digital transformation of products, services, and organizations.

Enabler of Digital Transformation can have positions like:

  • Information/ Communication Technology Manager
  • IT Coordinatior/ IT Consultant
  • IT Service Manager/ IT Integration Manager
  • Product Manager
  • Project Manager
  • Engineers e.g. in Product Development, Production

Objective

The program empowers graduates to apply an interdisciplinary approach to problems and trains an adequate solution with a systems-oriented mindset. From an engineering perspective, graduates understand the role and potential of digital platforms from an enterprise and market point of view including state-of-the-art technologies such as Internet-of-Things and Blockchain. They know modern software and system engineering techniques with a specific emphasis on the cloud computing paradigm.

Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted to our Information Systems Engineering & Management master program, the following requirements have to be fulfilled:

Appropriate qualification for university entrance:

First degree: Bachelor, master, diploma, etc. (University, University of Applied Sciences, Cooperative State University).

The first degree should be in:

  • Economics
  • Computer science
  • Information technology
  • Business engineering
  • Physics or a related subject

Basic knowledge of one of the following fields is required:

  • Theoretical and technical communication science
  • Programming
  • Databases
  • Operations research
  • Micro- and macroeconomics In exceptional circumstances other degrees may be accepted (e.g., professional experience).

Professional Experience: Depending on the first degree´s level (210 or 180 ECTS points), work or 1 or 2 years of practical experience in the specific field of the course is obligatory. Three years of work experience are recommended. References are needed as evidence.

TOEFL Test: Evidence of an adequate knowledge of the English language is required, normally in the form of a TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language).

Interview: The last step of admission is the successful completion of the interview with the program director.
