General objectivesThe Master in Informatics aims to deepen knowledge and skills in the areas of programming and systems, with an emphasis on the area of systems development.
It is a master's degree driven by the trend towards digitalization of the economy and society and the consequent need to reinforce the so-called new digital skills, focusing on technologies to support the development of the so-called Industry 4.0, namely in terms of Mobile Computing, the Internet of Things, Data Analysis and Machine Learning.
It is intended to be a specialization, not only for people with higher education in computer science, but also in other areas of engineering, who will thus be able to acquire the necessary skills to be actors in the ongoing digital transformation.
Learning objectivesUpon completion of the master's course, the graduate will be prepared to work in various types of organizations (public or private), individually or in groups, that need specialized technicians in the areas of Software Engineering and Computer Science with a professional profile capable of :Analyze, design, plan and develop mobile or IoT systems, applications and services;
Specify software development requirements of varying complexity;
Collect, process, analyze and interpret large volumes of data;
Analyze and develop solutions for sensor networks;
Analyze and understand the impact of technological solutions on individuals, organizations and society;
Coordinate and manage computer projects;
Understand the technological potential of the Internet of Things and translate it into innovation within organizations.Access conditionsThe following may apply to the Master's degree in Informatics:Holders of a degree or legal equivalent in the areas of Computer Engineering or the like;
Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process, in the areas referred to in paragraph a) above;
Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized by the ESTG / IPPortalegre Technical-Scientific Council as meeting the objectives of the degree in the areas referred to in paragraph a) above;
Hold a school, scientific or professional curriculum, recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the ESTG / IPPortalegre Technical-Scientific Council that ensures that the candidate has adequate knowledge in one of the areas referred to in point a) aboveApplicationsDocuments required to formalize the application;Online application form;
Document proving qualifications with the respective classification;

* Under the terms of no. 2 of article 5 of Law no. 7/2007, of 05/02, initialed and signed copy in which it authorizes academic services to file the citizen card in the individual file . In case of non-authorization, you should go to the services in order to show the citizen card and to verify the information to accept the application process.
