Introduction
The Master of Science in HTM provides opportunity for growth as a student and a career directed individuals interested in careers as middle management personnel, educators, consultants and researchers to all aspects of the hospitality industry. Students can expect a stimulating environment encouraging the seeking application of new knowledge to this industry. The program includes interface and focus, through coursework and the completion of a professional paper, with industry and educational leaders on issues of immediate and long term importance to the industry. After completing the first year of core courses, students have the opportunity to focus their choice of electives by completing concentrations. The hospitality and tourism management concentration provides specialized course work for those interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality and tourism industry, one of the largest and fastest growing industries worldwide. Elective courses within the concentration are provided as choices for those interested in gaining more expertise in a particular area. Admissions The Pamplin MHT program in National Capital Region invites applications from Prospective students interested in pursuing the degree on full time, part time or undecided (Commonwealth campus) status. With more than 55 courses offered annually, students are able to finish the program full time in two years or extend their course plan to a maximum of five years on a part time basis. A typical part time student will graduate in about three and half years. In addition, students may chose the Commonwealth Campus alternative prior to being fully admitted into the Program. In this case, students will be enrolled in only one MBA foundation course. This permits the applicant to complete his/her application packet and be considered for the regular admissions status in a future semester. Students may enroll during the Fall, Spring or Summer semesters.
