Master in Fashion Design

General

Program Description

Ten extraordinary months. Learn from the industry’s top professionals.

For who?

Raffles Milano is looking for graduates in design, costume, and fashion academies, but also young designers who are eager to deal with professionals in the real world industry to open up new forms of experimentation and new aesthetic horizons. The goal is to form the future leaders of the fashion world with an independent and unique creative vision, while at the same time having a strong ability to penetrate the complexity of a highly volatile market.

Program

Throughout the Master, students gain a full-fledged vision of the fashion industry, working alongside the professionals who drive the luxury market today. We analyse trends of costume and macro business, talk about fashionable aesthetics, create boards, work on targeted research led by industry experts. The program works step by step to build the student’s own collection from sketching to production.

Learn directly from the protagonists means to acquire the source of the visions and the most advanced methods. Unlike the traditional Master, the Master Raffles Milano brings knowledge into action in the classroom with top market professionals alternating in the classroom over the course of ten months.

Course Leader Arthur Arbesser, Fashion Designer

Born and raised in the Austrian capital Vienna, he studied at Central Saint Martins College for Art and Design he quickly developed his personal aesthetics, influenced by his intimate contact with London’s prolific art scene. Upon graduation he moved to Milan to work for Giorgio Armani for 7 years. Arthur launched his eponymous women’s wear label in February 2013. He was one of the finalists at the second edition of the LVMH prize in 2015, and in June of the same year, he was invited to participate at the prestigious PITTI Immagine Fair in Florence as a women’s wear guest designer. Besides his own namesake label, he works as a creative consultant for other international brands and continuous high profile collaborations with Apple, Silhouette Eyewear, HEM furniture, the Vienna State ballet and the Berlin State Opera.
